Born in the dying days of the Baby Boomers generation, Syd Edwards was raised in a military family and frequently moved throughout the eastern and mid-Atlantic areas of the United States. His father was a career Marine who served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was wounded in combat, his mother was a proud housewife who dabbled in painting and ceramics in her spare time. Eventually settling down in the Mid-Ohio Valley region, he completed his education and began selling his work. By 1987 his client list included a large percentage of the local business community. As well he had also began working with his first high-profile clients.

His business continued to grow and today his list of clients includes international music groups, business' across the nation and dozens of publications. Syd's work has also appeared in galleries and art shows throughout Ohio and West Virginia. In 1997 his successful "Dark Elegance" art tour traveled through four cities and featured over 30 pieces including selections of his award winning aviation art.

A man of diverse talents, he has also written for music magazines, public relations firms and small press publications; created and webmastered a number of websites; DJ 'd an internet radio program and has toured as the bass guitarist with a number of unsigned music groups.

Throughout his life he has had a passion for military history and this led to the creation of The Fightin' 79th in World War II, a multimedia CD-Rom dealing with the USAAF's 79th Fighter Squadron. Edwards' research on the 20th Fighter Group has also been cited in magazine articles, books and numerous internet forums and websites throughout the years. Since 1997 he has helped fellow researchers, aviation archaeologists and family members of former personnel to uncover information about the "Locobusters" via the internet.

While an updated and enhanced version of the Fightin' 79th CD is currently in the works, he is also in the research phase phase for his latest project, which is expected to be released sometime in 2011.
