Blank page sample exam.  If you are going to do well on the exam over the material in this chapter, you should be able to take some blank sheets of paper and write answers to the following.


1.  Give a list of common subatomic particles and radiation.  For each give its charge and mass.  Give several examples of types of nuclear decay processes.

 

2. Give a couple of examples of how radioactive decay is used to determine the age of geological or archeological samples.


3.  Give some of the factors that determine nuclear stability- include examples of them. Quantitatively give the equation that is used to calculate the stability of a nucleus and give and example of its use.
