Major Areas of Experience

Isolation, purification and characterization of proteins from plant and animal cells, Enzyme kinetics, Carbohydrate analysis by HPLC columns, Preparative recovery and purification of proteins and nucleic acids, GC analysis of hydrocarbons and terpenoid compounds.

Production of enzymes and specialty chemicals in microgravity-based bioreactors, Proficiency in isolation and derivation of natural products, Plant gene expression and molecular biology. Demonstrated experience in maintaining and running medicinal plant cell cultures in bioreactors with emphasis on sampling automation and bioreactor monitoring and control.

Broad experience in modern instrumentation and analytical techniques including:  HPLC, GPC, SDS-PAGE, GLC, Chromatography, and Computer automation / data analysis. Cell culturing techniques using microgravity-based bioreactors.
