This floor plan, while still tentative, gives a good sense of the type of house we're planning. We want our house to be made of Cob, probably earth-bermed on one or more sides, with an earthen floor on the bottom floor and wood planks for the upper floor. We are interested in radiant floor heating (or possibly a masonry stove) for temperature control.

This is a side view of the house. You can see how the house fits into the hillside, and how the clestory windows allow light to penetrate into north-facing rooms. The roof of the first floor will serve as a patio/garden for the second floor rooms.
